Can you sell art successfully on Ebay?

I am trying to sell my art on Ebay but don’t know how. Can anyone give me any hints about selling original paintings on Ebay. I am the artist looking to sell his work. Any help from an independent seller would help.

I’d start with small work like 8 X 10″ or less. This way you don’t have to spend so much time, materials, or shipping on it. There are quite a few artists that just make pinups and make good money. I would not sell any large work or work that took a lot of time off the get go. It’s a waste of time.

about selling art on ebay?

i am an artist whose ready to sale my artwork on ebay.what i do is draw on 8.5 by 11 sheets of printer paper to create a single image.these drawings are pretty big, about the size of a home wall or bigger.i want to frame them and sale them on ebay.are these considered murals or drawings?i found this definition of a mural-Refers to a decoration in any medium that dominates a wall (or ceiling) surface; most often refers to works executed on the wall, but may also refer to works done separately and affixed to the wall.

here’s the thing,my drawings are based on images, hallucinations and vivions i’d see when i was on a certain drug.how can i let prospective buyers know this, without making them think i’m promoting the use of drugs.do i need to write a little caption to assure that doesn’t happen?
wth??whose talking about a job?what is this?

Have you tried maybe getting your name out there through myspace or Indiepublic and even try selling through there and esty. I am a designer and have found that it is a great way not only to network and get my name out there but to sell my work nationwide as well.

how do you start selling on ebay???

i want to sell art on ebay

admin answers:

Selling on ebay is pretty easy but before you do, you have to register. Once registered you can sell basically whatever you want. Take pics and download. Check out prices on what other people are selling their items for and be careful not to overprice or underprice. Ebay charges a listing fee. It is a small amount and is based on the item you are selling and the price it is selling for. I’ve never paid more than say $1.25 for listing fees on small items. Make sure you are very descriptive in your listings. Do NOT take personal checks…use Paypal as your preferred method of payment because you can get screwed very easily on ebay. Also make sure that you list exactly as is the item you are selling. Some buyers are very particular and if the item does not match the description, you will have to refund, which can be a pain in the butt. Shipping is easy since you can print labels from Paypal. Once you do it a few times, it’s very easy and you can make some decent money.
