Susan asks…

Best way to sell books on Ebay?

I have two boxes worth of books that I want to sell on Ebay. They’re mostly teenage fiction books. I was wondering what the best way to sell them is. Most of them I’ll probably put individually, and the short series together, like the Angels Unlimited books. But I’ve got a whole box of the horror books, like Fear Street and similar ones like that. What’s the best way to do those? Just put all of them together? Or break them up by author, etc. Thanks.

admin answers:

Start it at a low price ($0.01). I would do individual. Make sure to try and find reviews for the books (a lot of times you will find this on the back of the book or inside.) Write parts of the reviews in the description for the product. For example,”

“….the best book I’ve read in ages!”
—The New York Times

“A thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat!”
—Mr. So-and-so

“Stephen King has finally met his match!”
—Mrs. So-and-so

But don’t make up the reviews! Make sure they are legit! lol. Good luck!! :)

Linda asks…

can you make good money selling used books on ebay?

and if so, what books are best to sell?

admin answers:

Not really. Not unless it is a rare collectible maybe.

Too many bookstores online and too many used bookstores in brick and mortar. Too low of prices and too high of ebay and paypal fees. Checks and money orders have risks. I had one person buy a used book that was worth $60 new for about $10, sent me a check for about $20 and I sent them a check for the difference after it cleared and then 3 weeks later their check bounced. I got bouncing check fees from my bank. It was a lot of work to get them to pay me by complaining to ebay and square trade. Be careful.

Donald asks…

How much am i likely to earn selling books full-time on ebay?

admin answers:

It really depends on what you sell and how hard you work at it. I’ve had spells when I couldn’t sell a single book in my inventory and other spells when they sold so fast I could barely keep up. If you sell books on ebay it is best to stick to rare books and collectibles. Mainstream books are too readily available to be worthwhile. There is a definite learning curve involved so if it doesn’t take off immediately don’t give up.

Mark asks…

How do I go about selling books on Ebay?

I’ve never used Ebay before.
How does everything work?
Here’s what I need to know…
- pictures and descriptions, for books.. how should pics be taken?
- shipping, how does that work?
- how do I get the money from the people? Does it transfer into the credit card account that I would put on my account?

I really know nothing about this, but I have these books sitting around and they are like new. So if I could get a step by step list of how to go about this, that would be amazing. Thanks so much!

Thomas asks…

selling books on ebay?

im helping my sister sell her college books that she no longer needs and i was wondering what would be some help full tips and stuff to watch out for

admin answers:

I also sold my sisters college books on ebay, and I got a great turn out. Just set fair shipping prices and normally not a lot of people are looking for that book so sell it as a ‘buy it now’ instead of auction.
Also Go to other sites that sell books and look up their prices before listing-I would normally set my prices lower than what they where asking and I had a lot of luck with it. You can also copy and paste reviews and descriptions about the book you are selling into your description. Great time saver! Good Luck! : )
