How to sell things on Ebay if Im residing in Singapore ?
Imma Singaporean. I’ve got a whole load of clothes and was thinking of selling it, Can anybody tell me in details on how do I actually sell stuffs on Ebay ? And are the charges high ? Thanks!

Just go to the Ebay Singapore website at ebay.com.sg and they will give you the correct directions on how to make these types on sales and shipments. Be sure you are equipped to sell this merchandise properly with the online auction software platforms you are provided. There are many available and it is recommended to review such items to make sure the entire process goes forward properly.

Betty asks…
How would I sell these things on ebay (info inside)?
I want to sell things on ebay, like: clothes, pants, shoes, earrings, shoe-strings, small cases, chargers, and things like that. But, I wanted to know how would I do that? What packaging equipment would I need? What would I put on the box? Do I have to have my address on there, because I received something from my cousin recently without a address from her (only my address was on there)? Where would I buy this equipment? Thanks!

admin answers:
Assuming you live in the US the cheapest and most cost effective way of shipping merchandise is to utilize the US Postal Service. Here are some of the benefits:
* Their costs are very competitive with other domestic carriers
* They offer package tracking (so you know when it’s delivered) as well as insurance
* They will pick up the items at your door
* You can print postage & shipping labels online (provided you have a credit card or PayPal)
* They will ship you packaging supplies (basically boxes) for FREE (http://www.usps.com/)
From a cost and convenience perspective it is hard to beat the services they offer.
The only equipment you would need to buy is a decent postal scale to weigh your packages before you ship them. Most office supply stores sell analog style scales for around $30 and while you’re there you should plan on picking up some packing tape and packing material (foam peanuts, bubble wrap).
All packages should ship with a return address (yours) and a recepient’s address (your buyer) clearly labeled on the front of the package. It is your best way of guaranteeing safe delivery.
Good luck.

How do you sell things on eBay?
I’m a little skint after buying a new car recently and was thinking here that I would sell some items of mine on eBay to get some more money. The thing is, I’ve never sold anything on eBay before and I’m not really sure how to do it. Especially the part about the postage and packaging. So confused! Please help, thanks.

I have a couple of different suggestions. Depending on how much you want to sell you may want to attend a class or pay a tutor to help you list the first few things. eBay also has excellent resources on its website. If you choose to do it on your own, start by listing something small. That way if you make a mistake, it is not over something very valuable. eBay is really not that difficult, by the time you have listed five to ten things you will feel like a pro.

How hard or easy is it to sell things on ebay?
I was thinking of starting to sell some stuff on ebay. How hard is it to set up and maintain doing it?How do you put how much shipping is?What price to start with, etc?
How do you pay the selling fees?

admin answers:
When you sign up to sell, eBay will ask for a credit card to charge their fees to.
When you sell and are paid via Paypal, Paypal will take their fees each time you are paid.
Step 1. Find something you want to sell. (Clean house!)
Step 2. See if anyone bought one in the past 2 weeks. You want to find an item that had LOTS of bidders. That way you sort of know some people are looking for your item. Look at the price the 3rd person down was willing to bid.
Step 3. Find a box. Priority mail boxes are free, but you have to pay at least $4.60 to mail it. The same size item in a plain box might be $2 in 1st class postage, but then you have to buy the box. Make sure you have a box and then get the box weighed. Be sure to find some bubble wrap or put the item in a clean grocery bag and pad with crumpled newspaper.
Here’s where it gets tricky. Buyers like flat rates IF they seem reasonable. $5 is fine if you can ship for that (the post office has flat rate boxes, but they run $4.60 and $8 something), but it’s a turn off if your item is cheap. Larger items will vary by distance…if you use eBay’s shipping wizard test it. You want to make sure if someone in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or Guam wins, you got the postage right. (Don’t list internationally at first.)
(Note, I have two eBay wins in front of me. Each seller charged $5 postage. One sent it priority and probably lost money doing so; the other paid $1.88 in postage, had to buy a box and probably gets the occasional groundless complaint about not refunding the overage. I’m happily noticing I paid $10 total each for items that originally sold in the store for $12.50.)
Step 4. List. Put the starting bid at the least amount you will accept. Double check the price breaks. $10 vs. $9.99 is a waste of listing fees as eBay charges 25c more for $10 than it does for $9.99. Buy-it-Now is *not* a guaranteed way to get a higher price.
Step 5. 7 day listing and be patient. It either doesn’t sell, sells to the first bidder or you have a few bidders.
Step 6, it sells, email a thank you, wait to get paid and as soon as you are paid, ship. (If you were set to go in step 3, you’re ready.)
Step 7, when the bidder indicates they have their item (by mail or by feedback), leave feedback.
Step 8, calculate what you actually made. Was it worth it?

How to sell things on Ebay?
Well, I usually buy a lot of stuff off Ebay and am planning to sell a few items. I don’t really get how to system works and what to do once I sell something.
Anyone care to explain?

Your first stop should be eBay’s Guide to Seller Services http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/services.html
eBay’s Seller Central has all the resources you need to learn about the basics of selling on eBay http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/index.html
The key to a successful eBay selling is simple — Sell products that people actually want.
Selling on eBay is not as easy as some portray. In fact, go to eBay and check out the number of auctions that end without a single bid. Competition is getting tough, as more sellers go to eBay; even the big boys are joining in the eBay marketplace. Add to that the increasing listing and final value fees.
eBay has several ways for you to determine exactly what the hot items to sell on their marketplace:
Items In Demand = the most popular items currently within that particular category. To see the In Demand page, go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/sellbycategory.html
Hot Items by Category Report = a monthly report that lists the fastest growing categories on eBay for the previous month. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html and select “Hot Items by Category” from the menu on the left.
eBay Pulse = “a daily snapshot of current trends, hot picks, and cool stuff on eBay”. Go to http://pulse.ebay.com/ to see eBay Pulse in action.
Merchandising Calendar = eBay promotes specific categories on its home page each month. Savvy eBayers know that this home page exposure results in more interest in such categories. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/calendar.html to view the current Merchandising Calendar.
