Why is there so much time between paying for an item and it being shipped on eBay; buying and selling?
Even when you sell an item; eBay TELLS you to wait until a certain day before you ship the item; why, And every time I buy an item it’s not shipped for about three business days. Why? Shouldn’t electronic cleared payment take seconds?

you can ship as soon as you comfortable that you have the money.
however if it is in you paypal account, they can cancel the order and the money is returned to them.
So most sellers don’t ship till the money is in their bank. This take 2-3 Business days.

Scammers do operate on Ebay and tend to target new sellers
Do not ever agree to any off site transaction or anyone asking you to ship to Nigeria. You will get scammed. The person must win the auction – do not trust anyone emailing you wanting your Paypal details or wanting to pay you with a money order or cashier’s check. Never give your paypal details or home address to anyone for any reason. And Paypal and Ebay do not allow accounts from Nigeria so anyone asking for shipping to Nigeira is always a scam and you will have no recourse. If you do not ship to the buyer’s registered address and get scammed you can’t get your money back
With any auction, look at the seller’s other items, their feedback and read the entire listing. Don’t be afraid to email the seller to ask specific questions

I always buy items cheap on ebay and the resell them, so mainly buying from foreign countries and selling at home. Lots of people dont know how to search ebay properly so its possible to do this.

Ebay – Buying & Selling – Serious Question?
First up, again, i’m asking this question here because I wasn’t quite sure where to put it and haven’t had any answers from good ol P&S!
What would happen if you sold something online on ebay, that you had your bank account associated with it as well as paypal, and you sent the item, but the buyer swears they never received it? It was sent by regular post with no tracking. It was under $1000. Is it covered by paypal?
What are the legal obligations required? Do I have to refund? I sent the item but the buyer SWEARS he didn’t get it.
Help?! I’m in Australia btw. I put it in this section because I really wasn’t sure where to place it and thought i’d get some answers!

I have had 4 instances.
Every single one was well taken care of by PayPal. 1 selling and 3 buying. I skip Ebay and go directly to PayPal.
I then escalate from claim to an issue all within 10 minutes. I also send confirmation emails to my self so I have a good record of all transactions. PayPal should do it …….I never do it with my checking…i always do a credit card ,which is pretty *instant* on returns also.
I have had 1 or 2 people misrepresenting the condition of the item.
