What are the best ways to make selling baby clothes very lucrative on eBay?
I have sold baby clothes on ebay before and I sold everything I listed they sell very fast, but I spent more on shipping them, than I had made from the selling price. Someone said I need to buy a scale and use it to weigh the items before I post the shipping price so that I know exactly how much to charge. I have that part down. Are there specific items that sell more than others that I should focus on?

Unless they are designer labels or very top high street, I think it’s only really worth selling baby items in bulk.
Not necessarily a bin bag full… but I think grouping three or four pairs of jeans or dungarees together, or five tops, or similar, seems to do best.
With newborn clothes making a little collection of basics, a few bodysuits, a few babygrows, some bibs, hats, socks etc. in one lot seems to do well.
With older baby clothes, try to group things up that are relatively similar (to suit tastes) but not so similar that it’s not worth having 2 of, together. For example sometimes I’ve looked at a bulk sale of 5 or 6 items, and I’ve liked all of it except for one thing. So if you try and match so that each item in each load will match the same tastes then it’ll do better.
Really, unless as I said the clothes were expensive in the first place, I really don’t think it’s worth selling baby clothes as singular items just for the reasons you mentioned.
As for postage – well I’m not sure how it works wherever you live, but if you’re in the UK you can take the package along to the Post Office and have them weigh it and give you a postage cost, without having to actually post it then, so you can come back and know how much to list the selling price as and then take it back when you’ve sold it.
Alternatively, a good indicator is to look at similar items, so if you have a bulk of five items, look for similar sized bulks, and see what the average price of postage they’ve given is, and judge it from that.
I always find that if you put a Buy It Now option on the listing as well as the bid, things get snapped up easier. A lot of people, me included, hate the uncertainty of bidding on stuff and having to wait around to find out if I’ve got it. When I want to buy something I want to know I have it there and then, so that I can keep shopping around if I don’t get it, nothing is more tedious to me than waiting around on an auction, and I’ve found a lot of people are the same. And I would usually be willing to pay a little bit extra rather than chance it on a bid if it means I know I’ll have it. I’ve sold heaps of stuff on Ebay before and 9 times out of 10 if I put a Buy It Now option on it it’ll sell.

Anybody with experience of selling baby clothes on ebay?
Planning sell baby clothes on ebay.I plan to sell single items as well as wholesale lots.
I am a new ebayer and don’t have much of an idea about shipping. What are the different packaging items that can be used for shipping baby clothes?
Thanks in advance.

baby clothes will ship well in the envelopes ( heavy duty manila ones) hold your shipping charges as low as you can because that stops a lot of people ( including me) from buying certain items on e-bay

Moms selling baby stuff on ebay?
So, I’m looking to make about an extra $400 bucks a month, I’m a stay at home mom but we need extra income. I can’t get a job outside my home, but I’ve heard that Ebay is a great way to make some money. I have a few questions though.
First of all, how much can I really expect to make selling things? Is making $400 dollars a month on Ebay unrealistic? Be honest, I’ve never used Ebay before so I have no idea how much money people will pay for things.
Second, what kind of baby/kids stuff have you sold on Ebay that people really wanted? I have a ton of baby girl clothes, some of them designer names, like Christian Dior and Tommy Hilfiger. I also have toys, baby bathtubs, swings, seats, a bottle warmer, shoes, and a ton of other stuff.
Third, what does selling through Ebay entail? Do they take some money out of what you sell the product for? How do ensure you get paid from the other person before sending it out?
I need some other Mom’s opinions that have sold on Ebay,
Thanks!

red all these sites re:selling. fees, paypal

you really need more than a #10 Feedback after your eBay ID rating to get people to be willing to trust you to buy from you
It takes many hours with taking pictures, downloading them, listing, selling, packing, getting the packing materials, mailing to become sucessful
Took me 2.5 hours to list 25 items for sale and people say that was remarkably fast

Selling baby clothes on Ebay?
Yes, or No? How do I do the shipping. I have a TON of baby clothes…some even with tags…and some designer clothing ralph lauren, the gap, rockawear…lots of carters, and little angel. Anyone know anything about selling and shipping things on Ebay…please help me out!

Personally I like selling things on Craigslist better than Ebay. With Ebay you have to make an account, take pictures of the item, post the item, figure out the shipping, etc. But with Craigslist you don’t have to ship it because the buyers pick it up at your doorstep and you don’t even have to create an account (you can if you like). If you are going to sell on Ebay you need to box up the items you’re selling and get it weighed so you know how much to charge (your local UPS store can help you with this part). Good luck!

Ebay advice! Selling baby/toddler clothes?
I am about to sell a bunch of baby clothes on Ebay 18-24 month boys…These clothes are all name brands, Gymboree, Childrens place, Chez ami. A few still new with tags. Could someone tell me if it would be more profitable to sell together, or in bulk? I have like 45-50 pieces.
Thanks!

It is probably best to sell the baby clothes in smaller lots. I suggest each lot contain 5 to 10 items. It is important that each lot consists of the same brand and size as buyers are usually looking for specific things.
If you try to sell each item separately, you will end up with many listings not selling or selling for a low price. The shipping cost to ship a single item will also put off many buyers. Listing 50 items on eBay is a lot of work too.
Selling everything in one or two giant lots will result in less money in the end. Most buyers will not want all the items you have included in the lot, so they are not willing to pay much for them.
Take a look at the completed listings on eBay for baby clothes. You will get an idea on what clothes sell best and what lot size sell best.
Be sure to offer combined shipping on your auctions. Some buyers may want to buy more than one lot from you. Offering a shipping discount will encourage them to bid on more of your auctions.
Good Luck,
Bill
