Mary asks…

Help. I have an adult website selling toys etc & would like 2 know a good place 2 sell things. Ebay say no?

I started off selling on ebay and they do not allow adult goods of a certain type. Does anybody know of a good place to sell my stuff.. I am the cheapest in the uk without doubt.

Please help as it would make our family life far easier to be able to pay the bills AND have some money left over.
just like to add that i DO have a real job but its awfull hours so i dont get to see much of my kids, Im trying to improve that situation by doing anything i can to help. I also sell bits around the house and car stereos, anything actually that i can find at a good price and make something at all on even 20pence. Im not a perve or weirdy just someone trying to improve the life of his family HONESTLY. Crime would be easy but hardly ethical so give us a break.. The website was offered to me cheap so i tried it.
sounds like tabbieh needs a discount

admin answers:

Maybe craigslist. You’re probably better off making a website and promoting it on craigslist or through other ads and stuff.

Nancy asks…

When is the best time to start selling things on Ebay for the holiday season?

My mom and I are trying to get into selling on Ebay. When is the best time to start listing items for this holiday season? Thank you!

admin answers:

In mid November people tend to really start thinking about Christmas and the holidays, as by then they realize that it is only alittle over a month away.

Sharon asks…

I want to start selling things on ebay?

I am 17 years old, and I want to start selling things that are easy to make or buy and that could sell on ebay. I jsut want to make some profit since its summer, anyone got any ideas???

admin answers:

You cannot. eBay has strict rules on age, and they require sellers to be 18

From the eBay Help Pages: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/identity-underage-users.html

———————————–
To become a member of eBay, individuals must be 18 years of age or older.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

Listing cancellation
Limits on account privileges
Account suspension
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Loss of PowerSeller status

Michael asks…

Does anyone have any advice or pointers for selling things on ebay?

I want to start selling some books that I have on ebay, just not sure how to estimate shipping and would like any advice I can on ebay selling.

admin answers:

media mail is applicable to books and only about 2.20 up to the first pound to all domestic addresses. check rates at usps.com and search for media mail rates. (books and recordings)

i would post a 3.95 shipping handling charge.
based on the book value, i have better luck posting at a very low start bit (1.00) and figure I make a few on shipping.
- offer shipment discount (say 50%) for multiple items shipped same day same address.
if you are selling textbooks, look at amazons buy back program.
i just sold 3 textbooks back for $65.00 and they paid shipping.

In general, folks will bid an item up but are reluctant to start bidding on a higher priced item. I have sold books for .99 with a 6.95 shipping and handling charge.

also , don’t do international. rates are ridiculous unless you are moving collectibles.

God bless….
