Joseph asks…
What would a good price be for selling books on Amazon or eBay?
What is a good price for me to sell some books on Amazon and eBay? The books are in perfect condition, and most of them have never been read. For example, if a book was originally $7.00, and it is in the same condition as when I bought it, should I sell it at that price? If not, what price should I sell it at? Also, which is better to sell stuff on: eBay or Amazon (if can you even sell stuff on Amazon)?

admin answers:
Neither.
half.com
It’s a part of ebay, but just for books and media. there’s no commission fees and you don’t submit pictures.
It also has a price guide that you can follow depending on the condition of the book. It wil tell you what other people are selling that exact same book for so you know what your competition is.

Richard asks…
is selling books and things on ebay considered a business?
if i have a website, selling lots of items, and i sell them on ebay, does that count as a small business? and any ideas on a cool, catchy website address for a website that sells mainly books?

admin answers:
well if you only sell a little its like a garage sale, but if you sell a lot it is like a business to the irs, and you are supposed to pay taxes on income from there, and charge sales tax to anyone in your state and report it and all, but then can you deduct tape, boxes gas and a car and computer for the business too, just wondering, good luck

Donald asks…
i wanted to sell books on ebay How can I sell? Do in need to pay fees for selling on ebay and how much?

admin answers:
Yes you pay fees to sell on ebay. It depends on the starting price if it’s an auction. It’s called and insertion fee. Then when the item sells you pay both ebay a final value fee and paypal a fee for collecting the money. Go onto ebay.com, register and at the top right corner is a tab that says Sell, it tells you the fees before hand for listing. You may want to download a thing called Turbo Lister, which also tells you your fees before you list. It helps you listing your items by giving you a form to fill out step by step. I use it all the time for listing. Keeps everything for me. Helps for relisting, keeps track of everything and gives you little tips along the way. But if your smart when you list add a dollar extra for shipping and handling which helps take care of the fees. When you are shipping books though, you can only charge $4.00 for the shipping. Ebay does not allow any more. So charge the 4.00 and send the book media mail. You should have a little extra for the fees or if it’s a heavy book, you can put a handling charge in the body of your auction.

Paul asks…
